Richard is Non- Executive Chairman of Northern Petroleum PLC and Strategic Natural Resources PLC. He holds an MBA degree from Cranfield and has spent most of his working life in the City – initially as an Investment Manager and for over 26 years with companies in the upstream oil and gas industry.
Richard was formerly Deputy Chairman of Aberdeen Petroleum PLC and a Non-Executive Director of Atlantis Resources Limited, a company listed on the London and Toronto Stock Exchange.

Director of Richard James International Limited (RJI) and Richard James (Holdings) Limited, Barry has over 20 years experience of working in the South Atlantic Ocean. Specialising in sourcing, procurement and transportation, he brings a wealth of knowledge, organisational issues and contacts in operating in the South Atlantic.
Founder member of Obsidian Group Limited (OGL), a first tier member of Ascension Island businesses.

John joined the Group in 2010 to take lead responsibility for developing and conceiving earth resource business opportunities. He holds a PhD in geology from Trinity College, University of Dublin and has spent most of his working career in the Geological Survey of Ireland, where he has served as senior manager with responsibility for various operational programmes, including minerals, land mapping and, most recently, CCS activities. He has (co-)authored many academic papers and, earlier in his career, worked as a gold mine geologist and in gold, uranium and base metal exploration in various parts of Canada.

Ian qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988. For the last 11 years he has been a Partner/Director in Sully Partnership Chartered Accountants specialising in SME’s.
He is non-executive Director of Sitec Group Limited, one of the largest private engineering companies in the South West of England specialising in Aerospace and defence engineering on an International basis.

Founder of Richard James International Limited and Richard James Holdings Limited, Richard has over 30 years experience in operating in the South Atlantic.
Specialising in sourcing, procurement and transportation, Richard was also a founder member of Obsidian Group Limited, a first tier member of Ascension Island Businesses.

Geoff is also a founder member of Obsidian Group Limited, was Obsidian’s Finance Director until his recent return to the UK.  Previously Geoff was General Manager of Cable & Wireless South Atlantic with responsibility for Ascension, St Helena and the Falkland Islands. As with Barry Wickenden and Richard James, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of working in the South Atlantic.

As a founder shareholder in AHL and in view of his long connection with South Atlantic issues, Michael is a key advisor to the group. He graduated in Law from Trinity College, Dublin and trained with City law firm Ashurst Morris Crisp and subsequently Maples Teesdale. For 15 years he worked for The Iveagh Trustees Limited – the global family office for the Guinness Family – initially as Chief Investment Manager and then as Joint Managing Director advising the Family on their worldwide affairs.
Through The Hutchinson Consultancy he continues to work closely with family offices, families, private banks and other specialist advisors in Europe and elsewhere. He currently serves on the Global Council of a US based group of Single Family Offices.
